I say if he left without telling his own daughter then just break the damn window out and get your possessions. Make sure to tell the local Police you're going to do it just before you do so that they will know it’s not a burglar.

So WHO is going to take repsonsibility to let a TOTAL stranger inside someones apartrment to take PERSONAL property out ? It doesn't matter who is related or how they are related, NOBODY is going to simply be responsible and permit this.

In NY City, if you have not been living there for 60 days and can not show proof (utility bill, bank statement), etc... you are just a "guest" and have no right to get in or out of said premise. In this case, sounds like she was given permission to stay, never payed rent, and was there under 60 days....it is a civl matter in NY.

Now, if over 60 days, and proof has been shown they live there, they are now legal residents, and have all the rights to occupy the premise. Thus, you could call us and gain entry through a locksmith or somthing.

But sounds like it is a civil case....adn why does nobody care about the 80 year old guy misisng?

so now what,she just sits,and as far as a hole,its as big as Teexas for an 80 year old man to do this to his daughter,maybe a good cop will answer.Who maybe had a daughter whose gone through this ,but thanks for the advise,no offece intended
