    I am wonder if I smoked pot in August; will it hinder my acceptance into a police department?

    Excuse my typeo's....I am wondering: I smoked pot for the first and last time in August. I have not done it again and now know it was a mistake. Will this Hinder me getting hired in NY or NJ? I didn't know I wanted to be a PO until recently. I am a Criminal Jusice major and hope to work in the field. nay advice or thoughts are appreciated!

    And to save you the time and trouble of looking for old posts while having the munchies...I would say that MOST if not ALL departments ANYWHERE are going to have a 3-7 year prohibition on drug use. So since you smoked weed in August...wanted to be a cop in April...probably not a good chance that you'll be accepted.

    Just say no...why didn't that stick with the youth of today.
