Whatt would be your needs in one? Other than the fact that it would black out when the lights are off.

What do you mean by an undercover lightbar?
A snout has told me he's got a set of nostrils, so go and get a W so we can spin his drum to see if he's got any monkey gear - The Sweeney.
LIke a lightbar that will gowith the rooflineof the car, so itlooks it's part of the car

They've got us surrounded? Good. Now we can fire in any direction, those bastards wont get away this time
An amateur will train until they get it right. A professional will train until they can't get it wrong.
That's not what mine will be like

Ches, if I am right, Nate is thinking of one that is an external mount, the one is Galls is for internal only.
Nate, in order to be accomodating for day and night work it should be LED and strobe, so that when light someone up or trying to get somewhere they can be seen easily.
He's right. The bars will be more suitable for black vehicles

Gotcha, basically like the cars on I, Robot

Nate,
I haven't seen roof bars, but I've seen side flashers on one of our Royalty close protection cars. Well I didn't until it flashed, it was the same colour as the bumper, then they turned it on and it was a blue strobe about 3"X1".
So your idea shouldn't be too impossible.

What about those that have to do both?

I knew that. Anyone have any suggestions for it?

I thinks some one's already got the pattent on the light bar that mounts completely to the roof. http://automotive.whelen.com/static/p503.htm
It mounts flush to the roof and had strobes to the front and rear. You could also buy a bar that goes over the read window and has an arrow stick.. This bar came out about 3 years ago.
The best idea for a light bar that's hidden would be one that could be attatched to the luggages racks of an SUV and have enough visual power when lit and blend right into the roof rack when not lit.
