ok, so the state is willing to pay all that money to have the person extradited to their state for child support payments, Even though the person was given a reprieve for 6 months because moved to another state for job?!
All of the ones I have seen issued around here are ones that are have broken the threshold for felony amounts.....thus making it a felony warrant. And we will extradite felony warrants wherever they pick up the suspect.
ok, can you tellme the threshold amount is usually How much???
And thank you for your help ... Everyone
I am totally blonde when it comes to this stuff.

It's not all that much money, round trip airfare for the officer and a one way fare for the subject.:D

Alot of it comes down to several questions on extridition..
1. How far away they are?
2. Having a warrant issued for their arrest and entered into NCIC
3. Having the distant department know where they live to attempt to pick them up (if it's a felony level)
4. Having the department that issued the warrant willing to pay all the costs to go out there and bring them back.
You can help out a lot if you know where they are living, working, etc and work with the courts to issue a warrant for non payment of child support. With co-operation the department that has jurisdiction where he lives may be willing to drop in on his home or work to serve the warrant.
The more information they have the better.
Ok what if the person was given a Reprieve though, because of moving to another state for Job?

Ok answer to
1.) 5-6 states away
2.)from what I know there is a Warrant? But unsure
3.) Pretty sure they got that off his income tax return. (it was sent for CS) :-)
4.)ok understandable....
But what about the reprieve that is being said he supposebly got for moving for job?

Around here it depends on whether or not the presiding court wants them bad enough. Adjoining Counties, Statewide, Adjoining States, or Nation Wide limits are set by the Judge.
Run you cur! You tell all the other curs the laws comin! You tell em I'm comin! And Hells comin with me!
Depends on what the threshold amount for a felony is in the state the warrant was issued in.Originally Posted by RnTbmal
Now that you have this new job in another state, are you taking care of you're kids? If I were you, I wouldn't be worried about whether the law was coming after me, I would be concerned with whether or not I was able to provide for my children... but perhaps that's the difference between you and I.Originally Posted by RnTbmal

My new hero!
Speaking of warrants. Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher....
Was talking about extridtion and says that all police agenices should extradite for any warrant. It should not matter the cost.
I'm really hoping that who ever runs agains him uses that. Can you imagine how much it would costs to bring back everyone with a warrant!!!
Why don't you just call the courthouse and ask THEM ? None of us can give you a 100% correct answer because we don't know all of the details. They can't arrest you over the phone, but if you have kids to support and dont... :(

The "reprieve" is only good as long as child support is current. That would have been explained quite clearly in the judge's order.
I went all the way to Walla Walla Washington once for a child support evader. Shame it was in Feb./
