Found Stolen Dog From 3 Years Ago

I need some help and i am hoping that a cop can help me. I have found my stolen dog from 3 years ago. Except she is living in a crack house under heavy police survellience. I haven't gone to the police yet. I wanted to know if there is a way to get her back. There was a police report filed 3 years ago when she was stolen. They don't let her out of a cage in the basement. I would confront these people except i don't know if they have guns or would harm her.

If anyone can help me please give me any info you can

    sincerely
    Heartbroken dog owner

How do you know its your dog? And how do you know its in the basement? How do you know its a crack house under police surveillance?

Mainly this is hearsay from a friend of a friend that knew the dog. When he described a distinct characteristic of her i knew it was her. I don't know or care what he was doing there. That is why i don't know what to do. I may or may not be her. But the chances are 99%

This should be your first clue.

First, this friend of a friend is hanging around in drug houses, so any information they provide is highly suspect. Also, this dog characteristic is SO unique as to be repeated at least twice in conversation, and would rule out ANY other dog?

Well, if it IS your dog, once the place is raided the dog will go to the pound and you can then get 'em back.

If you know or even think this dog is yours, dig up that police report, and then remind the officers that it is your dog. If they are watching the house for dope, knowing a possible stolen dog might be in the house, depending on the value of the dog...another good felony pop for them. Either that or when they do the raid, less likely hood of the dog going to the pound.

I was going to call the police, but i figured they would just blow me off, especially since i haven't seen the dog. I know it is her, i know it is just hearsay. I want to just bust down the door and get my dog.

The distinct characteristic he described was a pink scar on her black nose, Plus the dog was pure white. We called her Ivory, they call her Snowball. When she was stolen we thought that it was crackheads that did it.
I don't know many dogs that are all white her height and weight with a pink scar on their nose. He also said her tempermant was what made him take notice. She was so friendly and nice, especially living under those conditions.

As for his character, i think he just went out to the bar with the wrong people and didn't have a car. They took him to this place, not that he objected but he is not a frequent drug user.

My friends and I always cruise the basements of well known crack houses looking for pets that may be kept in cages there. It's sorta like the new-age animal shelter. Once I found a parrot that had been stolen five years ealier...unfortunately, it was highly crack addicted, and even after I paid a fortune for a detox center and counseling it relapsed and is now back on the streets, searching for rock. It used to have a large vocabulary, but now all it says is "Polly gives beak-jobs for crack".

(in other words, your story stinks like doo-doo)

IMO, you are SOL. However, it would never hurt to contact the PD. The worse that can happen is they tell you they can't do anything.

What characteristics make this animal so special that someone going though a known crack house would remeber that. Then days later be able to tell you about a dog he happened to see in a basement?

    Get a job.

To whom is that directed? The people from whom you seek help? That will certainly not endear them to you.
