I was wondering if there was an average minimum weight limit for male police officers. I'm under weight, I've been underweight all my life. I am 5'10 and about 130lbs. I'm hoping to gain some weight through lifting weights and what not. I'm mostly just curious though.

In Califronia your okay as long as you can pass the agility test, Over weight or under weight as long as you can pass the test.

My dept has a height weight ratio. You would be too skinny for us. Unfortunately, gaining weight is a lot harder than losing it. Work out and us legal body enhancers and see what happens.

There is a 'healthy' weight/height chart but I've personally never heard of anyone being refused the job because of being too small or skinny, as long as you can pass the physical exam requirements.

Here too. As long as you can drag that 150 lb dummy all over the place, you're ok. That sucker is heavy when it's a little muggy outside too!

I think that for your height it would around 140 or 145. You don't have a lot to go....

When I got out of the army and had two weeks before I went into the academy, I was so skinny I had to jump around in the shower to get wet!! I used to eat bananas, drink milk shakes, and generally eat like a horse to gain weight. It was never a problem, except in my head. I finally put on all the weight I'd ever need.

Go to basic training. i gained 47 pounds in basic. The drill Sgt made all the skinny guys eat two trays every meal.:D

I just don't want to start getting fat around the stomach and stuff. I have pretty much no fat on my body, but I have tried to eat more for the past year or so and I have gained a little weight, but it seems to all go to my stomach =/. So I want to gain weight in a positive way, even though any weight at all won't really hurt me.
