Ya, thanks. I was real tired and this was one of my last posts. I did it with "Very" originally but it seemed to look funny so I changed it....four times and ended up with the wrong version. By the end I felt like I was in a haze and suddenly I thought..."being a smart *** is Sooo much work". hehe thanks for ALL the people that noticed I screwed up, even the 14y/o (how embarrasing)
OH, as for the amount of mis-used word, I copy/pasted four of them so really I only mis-used it four times...

A simple traffic ticket for an infraction is one handwritten page of every aspect of that person's personal information (name, date of birth, address, height, weight, hair, eyes, social, drivers license number, date of infraction, time of infraction, employment information, court date, charge, description of charge, time citation served). Then on the back is a one page Probable Cause Affidavit where you tell your story. Once you've written a few, you can generally knock them out in 5 minutes if the driver is being cooperative and staying inside of the vehicle. When they cooperate, I write them for a lesser offense (ie-obstructed vision, and a verbal warning for speed).

A Misdemeanor Arrest (or cite and release) is filled out on the same summons, with the same information. With the exception of writing the PC aff on the back. We have to pull a case report and type it out.

Evidence is another sheet...gotta describe the property, who recovered it, where recovered, what time recovered, what time the evidence bag was sealed and by whom. Then the suspects and victims personal information goes on that sheet as well. The charges go on this sheet as well.

Then the same information described above gets duplicated on each and every evidence bag.

A Felony Arrest includes the same sheets, plus a custody one sheet for the jail (which again duplicates all personal information about the suspect). Then a personal property sheet, with any and everything of value going on there. You also have to throw in a PC affidavit, which is a synopsised version of what will eventually be your narrative. Then there is a Felony information sheet that needs to be signed.

DUI's are another animal. Summons, Case report, Evidence (either blood or gel tube of breath), Intox printout, and a "DUI Report", which duplicates the results of what your narrative will say regarding observations, indicators, and roadside manuevers. Then the Affidavit and Notice of Revocation if there was a breath test, where you again duplicate your PC for arrest. If you decide to book dirtbag into jail, you have to again duplicate your PC on another PC affidavit (DUI short form).

We do ALOT of paperwork...it can be frustrating when you know that all you are doing is duplicating, but the brass want it that way...they're the boss...

When you get hired on, expect for your first few arrests to tie up the majority of your shift. If you're FTO experience was like mine, nobody else will help you knock out the paperwork because you have to learn how to do it all...it makes you better in the end though.

Once you've done a few, it just becomes second nature and you will find youself knocking out the Jail paperwork for a Felony in 30 minutes, and another 2 hours to finish the complete case report (if you learn to type fast or dictate).

you have to factor in the endless Adam Henry's who can't seem to pull their heads from their rears and complain about people looking at them.
