I don't find either one very effective, but I am expected to write tickets and actually enjoy giving them out.Originally Posted by Scruit

Tickets don't slow people down and neither does a warning. When one of my shift partners stops a car one of us usually sits up the road at the next crossover. People still blow through radar at ridiculous speeds even after passing some other idiot pulled over getting a ticket.
I usually tell people that ask for a warning that their "warning" was the big white sign with the speed limit posted on it.
Asking for a break is one of my big no-no's and assures a ticket. Dropping names is the biggest pet peeve I have and I will write everything I can find if they drop a name.

They've got us surrounded? Good. Now we can fire in any direction, those bastards wont get away this time
An amateur will train until they get it right. A professional will train until they can't get it wrong.
i've actually been sitting in a spot shooting laser and get sent on a call. as i pull out, a car or two will sometimes pull over. guilty conscience i guess.![]()

The ticket I gave out last night to a Probatioanary Driver (first three years of holding a licence) will slow him down, at least in 28 days when he loses his licence for 12 months. Clocked at 151km/h in a 100 k zone = 94/60 mph. plus an extra three month suspension after that for accruing excess demerit points (5 for a probationer) and he got 13 points from the three tickets I wrote for him.
