    Question question about schooling

    Hey I am new here, and just wanted to know if you guys would suggest that I get a degree in CJ or a diiferent degree before I apply for a LE job. I know that a degree is not required in some areas, but I want to get a degree before I apply to help me in my career.

    Get a degree other than CJ. If something happens and you can't be a cop any more your CJ degree would be useless. In terms of getting hired it doesn't matter what the degree is the important thing is you stuck it out and did it. Whatever agency hires you doesn't care that you know anything about the job, you will be taught what you need to know in your basic training (police academy, FLETC, etc).
