Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs

Hi,

I'm a teacher doing some research for a lesson on organised crime in Australia. I was surprised to find that the most prevalent gangs in Aus are in fact outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMCG).

I've got all the info I need in the form of hard data, but to keep the kids happy I need some of the more gritty stuff. For example photos of patches and tattoos.

It'd also be nice to have some detailed info on codes, for example I found that if someone has a tattoo of the number 22 it means that the person has done time in prison. Also

13 The thirteenth letter of the alphabet and refers to Marijuana or Meth
18 Hells Angels
666 Filthy Few Forever

I figure real police should have a fair bit of info and you might be able to point me toward some photos etc on the web.. Thanks heaps

You will probably find that most officers will direct you to google or some other search engine on the internet to help you look for what you need. Most of the information some of us have on the motorcycle gangs is still considered "intelligence" and will not be shared with the regular public. Some of the more reputable motorcycle gangs, such as the Outlaws and Angels are investigated by local, state, and federal LE agencies.

Every police station has a poster of almost all motorcylce gangs hanging up on a wall somewhere.

It includes their patch, their estimated numbers, and where they have chapters. I'm pretty sure it is protected information so I can't give you one, but you could probably obtain one under FOI.

They all have webpages, they're not REALLY engaged in illegal activity such as extortion, drug trafficking, murder, and rape...they're just misunderstood. Look on their websites, you'll see those tough rough biker dudes handing x-mas gifts to the kids :D .

Seriously, just read articles on the net....those will give you the amount of information you need.
