Too many to list. We have a list of 90 or so, but it actually differs from state to state, and sometimes even town to town. Many are the same, but quite a few are different.

10 codes are generally not used any more. A federal directive has come down directing that plain english is to be used. This is in regards to interoperatibility and mutal aid requirements where one department does not use the same codes as others.

By using plain english every one understands what is being said and what needs to be done.

Some departments still use codes for officer safety reasons though.

We don't use 10 codes here. Ours just simple codes.

    code 10 - weapons
    code 12- drugs.

    Etc.

    ?? I didn't know that. US CBP/BP still use 10 codes.

    Yep,

Take a look at the National Incident Management System. It pretty much requires plain english for interagency operations.

All agencies that expect to receive any federal funds are being required to adopt NIMS. A good overview is the FEMA EMI Independent Study Course IS-700

Thats wierd they would have a regulation like that when plenty of Federal agencies still use them. You would think that they would just make a Federal standardized 10 code list or something. Well, no one ever accused the Fed Government of using common sense in their decisions. :D

Most important code to some here:

    10-7E
