Potential Problem

Another "will this affect my chances" question that I know you all love :D
My neighbor's babies father, (long story) comes down every once in awhile to visit his son and stay with her.

Well she dosnt like him because he's a deadbeat and from what Ive heard she tells him that im the one helping her with stuff (i.e. Putting together her computer, the crib etc.) Well he gets pissed off and blames all there problems on me, (hes been glaring at me for the past three days, now I know why) He tells her that he knows for a fact that Im sabotaging his car by messing with the starter. (I dont like the guy, why would I want him to stick around?) and Im also the reason hes a bad father.

After all that heres my question If this waste goes to the cops and tells them that Im messing with his car, will this delay the hiring process or even worse DQ me?

Interesting side note, I dont know much about cars, I can change the oil and the other fluids and change the tires, other than that Nada, the only way I know to mess with the ignition is to "Terminator 2" it and just rip apart the steering column.

No, I really doubt it besides, if he's such a deadbeat lowlife he probably can't report anything for fear of being arrested for outstanding warrants that may be out on him.

Background investigators examine the background of an applicant, but at the same time, put the statements of those they interview in the proper perspective. If you foresee this individual causing any problems, bring it up to your background investigator, as it's never a bad idea to tell a BI information that may be irrelevant for the purpose of fully clarifying a situation. Long story short, this won't affect you as you did nothing wrong (and you've given me no reason to not believe your story). Do what you can to develop any evidence to back your claims (if it even becomes needed) and you'll have no problem should this person try to say something negative about you.

When we take a complaint, we view the complaintant with much skepticism when the story sounds too off the wall. The story you presented is certainly in that category.
