Now, i dont really want to get banned like almost every other person who ive seen ask about drugs, and officers feelings on them, but this is something im genuinely interested in.
im 19, going to college, working my *** off for a consulting company, studying psych/business, being trained as a dog trainer (private contracting/attack/search dogs) and generally have my life in good order. Im not irresponsible or dangerous, i dont drive high, and i dont abuse any drug. I do however smoke pot from time to time.
I am a law abiding citizen for the most part, ive helped out police, ive recieved an award from my local police dept for helping them on one occasion, so really my question is, why do most officers seem to be so against marijuana? ive never heard of anyone i know doing anything remotely illegal while on/in order to get pot. I might also add that almost all my friends, esp those who do smoke, are upstanding citizens, except for the smoking of pot.
I can see going after coke, or heroin, e, speed, and almost all drugs, but hell, ive seen far more damage come from ciggarettes and booze than pot.
and as a second question, beyond your feelings on the substance itself, do you as an officer believe that you have an accurate representation of what the drug does and how it effects a person?
