Want To become a cop

hey. I Am going to college and i am thinking that i want to become a cop.

I am wondering what i should major in? I want to keep my options open though so i can have another career choice if something happens and i cant become a cop

Another question i have is this. Basically i used to have a fake ID. i was 17 and went into a liquir store to go buy beer. and the guy called the police on me. and i dont really know what happened. like i went to the police station but i wasnt handcuffed and then my parents came and picked me up. I was kind of joking around and talking with the cops and whatnot and the one said he would try to get the juvinile officer know i was a good guy or whatever. they said they would call me and let me know but they never did and nothing ever happened. so my question is will that affect anything?

And also i have smoked weed in the past. That wont matter right?

I dont smoke weed or do any drugs anymore.

But i never really smoked a lot. i never had more then like a 1/4 oz and most of the time had nothing

To answer your questions (In order)

Because it's illegal.

They will test you and talk to people who SAW you do it during your background.

And YES it DOES matter that much.

what? i am in great physical shape, Very fast, very Strong, Made first team all league in football, etc. Also i got 1240 on my SATs. And had like a 2.3 GPA. not too shabby right.

I am just wondering how would they know? I really want to become a police officer.
