Attempted Suicide (This did NOT happen to me!)

Hello,

My question is, if someone would take 27 ibuprofen's at school and which it messed him up pretty badly and to what i belive he fainted and what i believe he did not respond and was taken to the hospital from there, and prior to this, he told his ex girlfriend that he will kill himself if she wont get back with him.

Would that be a DQ from being hired as an LEO??

This happened to a Cadet and an ROTC leader today. His gf broke up with him and was ''depressed''

I personally think he should be kicked out of the Cadet program for trying to kill himself. Also would such a thing be written down on someones record and all?

Note:This did NOT happen to me and just curious if this would be a DQ and would kick you out of the Cadet program.

I am sure he would DEFINATELY have to explain himself...when he applied MANY years later.....after passing college and working for a few years without incident.

It's definitally going to be a perminant big red mark on any application.

That person will alwasy have to answer yes to these questions:
Have you ever seriously thought about suicide?
Have you ever attempted suicide?

I would highly doubt this person would be able to complete a psych eval for a LE agency. If this person continues to want into LE they are going to need to find a career and work there for a long time and demonstrate they are capable of being in LE.

I will say they'll be put at the bottom of any list an most likely will not be hired into LE.

If you're implying that the person is very immature, I agree. The boy is 18 years old. I have NEVER thought of/tried to kill myself ever! A friend of mine has and it was not a pretty period of time. I'm just confused if it would get you DQed, sence its a act of harm to your body.
