    Best for resume?

I'm 20, currently work at a birthday-party place for children. It's a good job, but really isn't my "thing." Been here since June of this year.

Anyways, I have an opportunity to work at a new SuperTarget opening in March of next year as an "Asset Protection Specialist." Basically, it's undercover security. Duties include apprehending shoplifters, making appropriate reports, responding to crisis situations, and appearing in criminal proceedings as a witness for Target.

They pay like $.50 less an hour than my current job, but money really isn't an issue since I live with my parents.

Should I just keep my current job (maybe to show stability), or go for this new one? Just wondering what would look best on a resume for a police officer. Thanks.

The asset protection (loss prevention) job is one I would encourage if you want to go into the field of law enforcement. I was loss prevention for a retail chain for 3 years. I apprehended folks for shoplifting, worked internal cases, etc. I was able to go to civil and criminal court and also met alot of the police officers that showed up to take the person(s) to jail. I got a good feel of what it was like even though I wasn't a commissioned LEO. It also helps you read a persons "body language" when they're up to something. I also interrogated employees that stole, so it will help as a LEO when interviewing perps. The only bad part was dealing with pieces of sh** and not having full protection. It was probably a good thing though. Kept us from getting into liability issues. You still have to be on your toes in asset protection. If you stop and accuse someone of stealing and they didn't, you open not only the company to a lawsuit, but you can get personally sued as well. You will learn that if you are employed and the more experience, the better you get. ;)
