I'm at the starting stage, still in college. Somebody told me its wise to take the Civil Service Test as many times as you can before applying, is that true??

Personally, I don't think so. You either know the stuff or you don't. Practice speaking skills if you can. The oral board is equally important and making a good impression is paramount.

I agree. Same as the LSAT (law school admissions test). They actually advise you not to take it more than once unless something was really screwy the day of the test. I am waiting on my scores from the LSAT. Material from that test and civil service tests is not something you will do better on each time you take the test. Prep for it really well, get a good night's sleep, and the rest will come from your head. Like retdet says, you will either know it or you won't.Originally Posted by retdetsgt
Wow thats interesting, well in that case, do you think it would be wiser for me to take the civil service test now, at 19, or wait till i'm near graduation around 21?
Wait

Your scores will most likely expire after a certain amount of time depending on the department.

I am no genius by any stretch, and when I took my CS test I only had a HS diploma. There were over 500 people taking the test. I thought it was very easy, but only about 100 passed.
It really simply weeds out those who don't have even basic reading and writing skills.

I miss your point. I am not needing to look for a job.Originally Posted by marchaa
