    Question

I posted this in the Hiring Process section as well but was curious if anyone had any thoughts....

Between the years of 1995-1999, I had many summertime jobs while I was home from college for summer and Christmas break. On my app, I completely forgot to list two of those jobs. Both were for no more than 2 months. No incidents were held at either job i.e. I was not fired, nor did I quit on bad terms- I simply had to return to my college out of town. This was an honest mistake, I worked and played college baseball so I often had to return to school early for practice and quit my summer/winter jobs early. Will they think I lied ? Should I call them and let them know. My fear is they will pull my tax records and find out and think I lied- which I didnt, I honestly just forgot. Trying not to lose sleep over this, but it worries me....Any advice ????

Thank you for all the support and advice

If your worried about it then be honest and tell them, at least you won't worry about it anymore. If you don't, and end up getting hired, then it will always be looming over you that there is a secret. Just cause your hired doesn't mean you can't be fired. Integrity is #1 in Law Enforcement

Easiest thing is to call them and tell them you were reviewing everything and found out you left out 2 things and would like to know how they would like you to correct it. It is that simple. Nobody is going to think you "lied"....this is VERY COMMON in the process. As long as the canidate brings it up first......it is not looked at as a lie, but a corrected mistake. Just call them and explain.

I did EXACTLY what you did and later in a hiring process , they found out about it and I was NOT selected as one of the final candidates. It worked out OK though, I got hired where I am now shortly thereafter and am much better off to be with my current dept then the one who bypassed me.

Same happened to me. I called them and added the companys name and managers name with contact number and brought it in for them to put with my app. <ime went through without a problem.
