    College

Ok, I want to be a patrol officer right now and am planning on attending college. What should I major in? I have been considering management, psychology or a second language or a double major. I have also considered doing a double major of psych or a second language and then later getting my MBA. Any opinions?

If you type "college" in the search engine, you'll probably find a lot of posts on this question. A major in a foreign language will definitely help you if you're serious about law enforcement. I have encouraged people on past posts to maybe consider a minor in criminal justice, but not to have it as a major. Alot of other officers on this topic will encourage the same. If you decide not to do LE, you will have a diploma in something else to fall back on. I majored in criminal justice and one of my two minors had to be psychology. It helps to have a little understanding of people you're dealing with. I would at least get a bachelor's. This will help you in pursuing higher ranking positions within the dept you are interested in. Hope this helps. ;)

Thank you for the reply. I did type in college, but just didn't have the type to do a complete review of the results. :D

A major in Spanish would serve you best if you have the time and dedication.
