    Same policy for us. I dont care what age they are. It depends on the circumstances, but if they're goin downtown, they're gettin handcuffed. ;)

    If they are old enough to hold on to anything they are old enough to kill you. If they go in the car they are cuffed behind the back. The only time I have ever cuffed in front was when the bad guy was too overweight to get their hands close enough behind their back (I will hook two together before I cuff in the front. Unfortunately I have met and arrested people that still can't be cuffed this way.) Then I cuff them in front. But if they are that big then it is usually so tight in my back seat that they couldn't move it they wanted too.

    Well, it seems there is agreement that juveniles should be cuffed behind the back. Would this apply to the younger juveniles as well such as those under the age of 13? Also, on another note which type of cuff do you prefer hinged or chain? I carry both and but use the hinged more often.
