Here if the exhaust is louder than standard factory equipment you are in violation. The judge can even seize your car (usually after multiple cites) and have the Sheriff fix it for you and charge you to get your car back.

The WORST sounding cars on the road are the whiny, tinny, raspy FOUR cylinders with a glasspack. Puuuuuuhhhllleeeeeese.

And by the way, when I am sitting out along the road watching traffic, report writing etc, a noisy car always gets my attention. And cars that get my attention get there plates run, driver checked for suspensions and warrants and equip. vio's get at least a 5 day fix-it caed.
