Thanks for all of your advice officers...and dont worry...I'll will be staying clean.

....The reason why I asked if I was under arrest was because they never handcuffed me...they put me in the patrol car and read me my rights before they took me to the PD

First of all I would expect better from an explorer. Kids will be kids, I understand that. The fact that you made a foolish mistake, also understandable.BBBUUUUTTTTT

fact that my license plate was turned in for some eggins that a friend and I did on a friday night. They just got lucky when they found the alcohol. Im not trying to get out of anything, I totally deserved both tickets that I got,

You shouldn't have been drinking in a car,and then asking the officers if they have a search warrant. That screams attitude, and that is the part for which I make my statement of "I would expect better from an explorer". The knowledge we help you develop is meant to help you with a future in LE not to help you break the law.

"if not more and im totally willing to take responsibility for my childish actions. I was just curious if there was a way to possibly pay for what I did with out getting this on my permanent record. I have no previous criminal records.
If you are willing to take responsibility for your actions, then do so. If you totally deserve both tickets, then pay them or do whatever the courts ask and move on. This may not be an end all to a future police carear. But if you continue in this direction it most certainly will be.

And STOP using the officers name, then you won't have to worry about editting it.

I have to agree with everything linda said.

You chose to break the law, knowing full well that you wanted a career in law enforcement. That does not strike me as good decision-making on your part. My advice... knock that crap off.

To answer your other questions...yes, you were under arrest even though the officer didn't go through the "Law and Order" routine of telling you that you were under arrest, followed by a comprehensive list of the charges.

As mentioned above, we do not need a warrant to search a vehicle...only probable cause.

Go to court, pay your fine, and stay out of trouble in the future.

PS- I have to wonder about the significance of your given email address; what does "catch me if you can" mean?

Okay...No problem then. The new posts that were entered while I wrote my original post here shed a different light on the situation. If you really DO want to be a police officer, then stop drinking underage, driving around with open containers in your car, and egging people.

This is really just basic common sense; keep your head in the game, take care of this nonsense, and you should do fine.

Also, yes there are people from all over the world that post here...BMD and I are the exceptions...

I wasn't going to reply because most have already done the talkin, but since you mentioned officers from other states, here it goes :D :

#1 - You have been a police explorer, but you egg houses and drink beer underage in a vehicle?

#2 - If you were an explorer like you say you were for three years, you know da** well that we don't need a warrant to search your car

#3 - Were you stuffin the beer when they pulled you over? If I see someone makin those movements in a car that I pull over, they would be comin out might fast, and not as easy where you were

#4 - Mischief, underage consumption, etc sound like the right charges to me.

#5 - If you personally know police officers in your town, if they respect you in any way, you are doing nothing but insulting them by driving around THEIR town and committing crimes, know matter how petty. I think I would be harder on you than the average juvenile because YOU DO KNOW BETTER.

Trust me...the officers I know personally are very hard on me...and I have heard several lectures from the school, parents, and the police dept and the chief of police's wife (retired LAPD cop). I have lost my whole varsity softball season, and its my senior year, I am not aware of what the court will do, and I am still being punished by my parents. I know that since I was and explorer I should be setting examples and what not, and I did realize that after I asked for the warrant that they did have probable cause.

Another thing...the same night I was busted, so were 27 other students for being at a party and consuming alcohol. Our town is so small and there is nothing to do...you have to travel out of town to do something thats fun and legal.

You start doing so well, then you throw in, and another thing. Translation, but but but it wasn't all my fault....We have done a pretty good job of the lecturing here, sounds like you are getting the same at home. One last point though, because I think it has been lost on you, the search warrant. My problem is not if you knew if there should be one or not, it is THAT YOU EVEN ASKED!

That said. You are 17 you have a good 4+ years to worry about before you can even become LE. Learn from your mistake and move on. Part of learning though is accepting responsibility. You start doing that here only to throw in ,and another thing, sub sinks, whistle blows. We were are teenagers and we do understand, believe it or not, teenage mistakes. Only the cops who know you though can make the statement, you hear what so and so did, yeah she is a good kid but.....We can't make that assessment based on a computer post, we do not know you. Take your lumps and move on, the world will start spinning again tomorrow, promisse.
