Why Did I get such a good deal in court?

allrite basically what happened was i was at this party and i was pretty drunk so i just stayed there and was planning on just sleeping there. but then something happened and i had to come home. So i was kind of drunk and it was 2:15 at night. Im apparently going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone And I see the police behind me. the cop writes me a ticket and decides not to cite me for driving after im allowed to (i have GDL when im 17 which means you cant have more then 1 passenger or drive after midnight)

So when i went to court I was thinking a huge fine and at least 4 points. but i get in there and they reduced it to 44 in a 35 and i only got 1 point and Like a $20 fine and court costs (somehow even though the ticket part for 6-11 mph over the speed limit was like $79)

So wtf is with that man?

They were real busy. You have no priors. The DA did you a favor. The Cop wasn't in court. The Cop cleared his caseload..... There are a lot of possible reasons.

yea but i didnt see the cop that pulled me over there and i am wondering if they tricked me or what and i could have maybe gotten off free?

yea thats what im thinking. but if the cop wasnt there i would have gotten no penalty right? Im thinking he might not have been there and they gave me a good deal just to screw me over

They did, you could have and you should be glad you didn't get a DUI. Fagetaboutit...don't do it again. You should have learned your lesson from this one. Next time, you may not be so lucky.

You have an appeal process at your disposal, I'd imagine.
