it really depends on the state you are in and the laws of that state. sounds like agg assault, disorderly, several charges here could apply.

As said, we need more here, how did he enter your home without force at this point? With me he would have to force his way, because I sure as hell wouldn't LET him in. What words were exchanged?

If I came to this house upon your complaint what rings into mind is a drug deal going, or something else criminal, going bad.

Why haven't you drawn your firearm yet? What are you thinking?
They walked through the door. literally they walked right in my door. They came to find out information about someone else. (Where somone lived, a phone #) There was an insult between families and accusations that a family member was sleeping around and there were tapes of it being passed around. They came to me to find out where the person who was making these comments lived.
If they came to your house and brandished a gun for information that is DEFINATELY A CRIME! Did this really happen? And if it did did you report it?

What should you be yelling? I"m sure you will think of things. "GET THE F*&# OUTTA MY HOUSE" "PUT THE GUN DOWN"

and a repeat from there while you are calling 911.

I think I would be calling the police to report a dead man on my porch, but then I would have never opened the door.

To answer the question in CA, the guy on the porch would be committing a crime. You would be okay because you were in your home.
How come your house has wheels and your car doesn't?
