They walked through the door. literally they walked right in my door. They came to find out information about someone else. (Where somone lived, a phone #) There was an insult between families and accusations that a family member was sleeping around and there were tapes of it being passed around. If they came to your house and brandished a gun for information that is DEFINATELY A CRIME! Did this really happen? And if it did did you report it?

To answer the question in CA, the guy on the porch would be committing a crime. You would be okay because you were in your home.
