Here is the scenario. There is this one-way two-way section of road under a train over pass. The traffic direction is controlled by lights, as there is only enough room for one vehicle under the bridge. The road curves, so you can not see on comming traffic. My light turned green and I proceeded.. I was almost into the lane when I see another car comming at me (obviously ran the light on the other side). I hit the horn and swerve as far to the right as I can in the little space infront of the lane. She pases and I proceed to my distination (a local park). I get out of my truck and start to walk on a pedestrian walk way. Not two minutes after I get out of my truck and the car that I honked at barells down the walkway and nearly runs me over. She (the driver) wants to know why I honked at her. I tell her why and she argues at with me. I say a few choice insults and tell her to get off teh path. She eventually drives away. When she gets about 25 feet away she waves a gun at me out her window. I did insult her.. call her crazy, etc before she drove away. At no time did I threaten her or come closer than within 7 feet of her vehicle. At no time did she get out of her vehicle. It has been 3 days and I am still a bit pissed about having a gun waved at me for honking my horn. BTW, this happened in Radford, Va.
What should I have done? I know I should have gotten her license plate number, but I was a bit startled and didn't think of this at the moment. Supose I happen to see her again an than get her plate (I know not to approach her or start anything). BTW, my girlfriend was with me and witnessed teh whole exchange. I had thought of getting in my truck and taking off after her to get her license number, but that would have required excessive speed and deemed this not an option.
Thanx,
Chris
