Can a firearm be "too old" ??

I would not say a firearm can get too old. I feel it has more to do with regular maintanance, care, cleaning and above all good TLC!!

BTW, if you got the $ for a new weapon go for it. The features like equipment rails makes for fun toy purchases in the future.

That was my original plan, but I thought I'd ask. No, I didn't mean to ask if it "went bad" (as in spoiled, etc.), but was really more concerned whether an older model would have less features (cosmetic, functional, mechanical, safety or otherwise) than a newer firearm.

I managed to hook up with a local FFL who's located about a dozen of the P226R (new tac rail version) in either SA/DA or DAK (DAO). These are Nitron finished "LE" versions that come with three hi-cap magazines and all the goodies for $627.

That's a nice find. Stay away from the DAO. The single action pull on a Sig is SWEEEEET.
