I was browsing another site and a LEO was talking about his time on a State SWAT Team. What States have SWAT Teams? My searches come up dry. I was always under the impression, probably the wrong one, that only certain departments or cities have SWAT Teams.

Any State PD is going to have a tactical team. Rural areas with small departments don't have the resources for those kinds of ops and will call in the state for help.

Here in Florida, that would be the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and they have a kick-*** team because I've been out with them many times. I even got a chance to work for them for two years but I didn't want to get sent back down to Miami. Google FDLE and there is probably a link in there for different State Departments.

SC has SLED ( South Carolina Law Enforcment Division ). They have a tactical response team. We have our on Tactical team also though.

Michigan and Indiana have one. Not sure about Ohio, they have Highway Patrol over there.

TN Highway Patrol has a full-time ops team. I think they do some joint training with the TN National Guard as well (marijuana eradication, etc).

Utah DPS has a state tactical team as well. A lot of rural counties here have a metro team composed of officers from different departments.
