    Trust

When I was about fifteen I recall going out to learn to drive on the backroads of PE. This guy in his late thirties or early fourties offered to teach me. We were having a few-I was driving too fast on the dirt roads-started to fishtail and lost control. We landed in the ditch. About 15 minutes later a police car was outside the car. The fellow told me to let him take the drivers seat and say that he was driving if the police questioned. I did I didn't want to get in trouble. Anyway facts are he didn't get into trouble, made up something. I screwed up his car and avoided getting raped. I just liked him as a friend not sexually. It taught me a lesson to be careful. Anyway there is more to it, whe the police drove me home, I was hiding a beer inside my jacket. I didn't care, thought I wouldn't get caught. I didn't but it has been on my mind. I really think you police are great people. I always got along with cops. I realize that was really wrong and I am sorry for that. I feel like police are my friends for life. I am happy about that. I guess what I am saying you should never trust anyone. I really at the time didn't think I was doing anyharm, although I knew I was. Probably in shock. Did not get any injuries. Thank GOD. Just be careful when your out there, and thanks for your help.

Thanks, Little Star. It's not that you can't trust people in general but a fifteen year old should never trust a forty year old guy that tries to befriend her and take her out on the back roads with beer.

Thanks for the kudos to law enforcement!

I did not think he would try anything. I realize people who are nice can have alternative motives. Well I didn't think he was nice after that day. Thanks for your reply.

At first after I put this here, I thought I was going to get into trouble for it, even being so long ago. I guess the guilt set in for awhile. I thank you, I feel that you understand.

You are very welcome. Don't think that it doesn't happen to lots of children though. When I was about 6, I remember this dirty old man on the corner always swinging in his bench swing on his front porch. My family was all law enforcement so we were told not to talk to strange people. My older sister didn't listen. She'd sit in the swing with the old pervert and he'd give her candy. One day I saw him put his hand on her thigh and I let out a blood curdling scream. My german shepherd came running, dove on the old man and tried to rip off his face. After Animal Control questioned us, the police came and took the old man away. Come to find out, he was a known child molester from another town. I didn't understand all this being that young but I did understand a stranger touching my sister. It gave me nightmares. Thank God the cops took him away. My father was a federal agent and he would have lost his job after he killed that old man.

I have a good life, but a few times in my life people have tried to kill me. I don't mean to reminise on the past. Someone tried to drown me, this guy kept pushing my head under the water. I was so sceared. I thought I was going to die. It was 25 years ago. At first that day, he tried to scear the life out of me and my sister by driving on the shoulder of the road for about 15 miles. We decided to go for a swim my sister stayed in the car, we went down to the pond and went in, he tried to drown me. I thought we were a goner. He didn't put me down the last time or I would have drowned. I am really thankful for my life. I didn't tell anyone at the time this happened. I am glad to be alive. I am so happy we have police to protect and punish evildoers. Keep up the good work and god bless.
