Police Crisis
The following story was aired on my local news network.
Union Township officers say they had no choice but to shoot a man threatening suicide and them Thursday afternoon. The incident happened at an apartment building behind the Beechmont Racquet Club. In a press release police say 39 year old Thomas Campbell was standing in the doorway of the building holding a knife to his throat. After being asked to put the weapon down he refused, told officers they'd have to shoot him, and then cut his throat and lunged forward. One officer fired a bullet hitting Campbell. He died at University Hospital around 6:30pm. Some neighbors in the Cherry Grove area say if the officers had been equipped with tazers the situation would have had a less violent ending. A Union Township Police spokesperson says the department can not afford to equip all of their personnel with the non-lethal weapons.
The only think that makes me sick, is whats not written. One of the people interviewed, criticised police for protecting themselves.
Well what i was trying to get at was this, how does it feel when you see people like your selves criticised for protecting themselves. I know i do!!!! lol
