I read on another site that the last NYPD class was and is still not trained to drive RMPs. I know that probationary police officers end up on foot posts(most anyway), but wouldn’t it make sense to get the training done while in the academy??? Any thoughts?

It would make sense, but sometimes there is not teh tiem to get that done. Thus they go out without it. And some never pass it to begin with. Thus, both groups never see behind a drivers seat in the cars.

They might. I have not been to the field lately but I heard that recruits were already going and have been. It just takes time to get everyone trained.
