Sometimes I picture myself PITting a-hole drivers in my head. They think that it may be cool for them to pass me, but they don't realize how easily I could remove them from the roadway.

My Little Buddy
I have stopped a guy that was simply out of control like that. He was going 50 over the limit and weaving in and out of traffic. Even forced a vehicle off the roadway. I was on my way home (but still in my jurisdiction), but I called in the PD and gave them the plate and location. When the vehicle stopped, I identified myself and told him to wait for a marked unit to arrive. He clearly knew that I was an officer, but he got back in his car and said "you can't do that". And proceeds to take off down a side road.
I'm not worried because I can now identify him and will simply deal with him the following morning. Well about 5 miles up the road, I see him pull off a side road and he's in front of me again! I was still on the phone talking to dispatch and telling them to hold the reg info for me when this happened. But this time, we had units that were in the area (they were still responding to search the area for the vehicle).
The kid's excuse was that he broke up with his girlfriend and was upset. He ended up getting pinched for Driving to Endanger, Criminal Speed, Failure to Stop for a Law Enforcement Officer (for not stopping for me after knowing that I was a LEO with the authority to make a stop), and an expired inspection sticker (just for good measure).
99% of the time I ignore it, but when someone is that out of control and nearly causes an accident, I can't let that slide.
sometimes, i'd give up a few paychecks to go Mad Max on some of these clowns.
