I am taking the civil service police exam for Westchester county on December 4th. I've been looking at websites for other police departments in NY and have noticed that a lot of them are also inviting applicants to take a civil service exam for their department on december 4th as well. Is there any way to take one civil service exam and have it be used for every department I apply to? I think this exam is only given every 2-4 years so it would seem to make sense that you would be allowed to apply to more then one department. I went to the NY civil service website and I couldn't find any information on this. also, when I take exam this December, can I use it to apply to other departments in the future, say a year from now?

It is one exam for a few deaprtments. Same exam.....but different agencies using the exam.
