Alright ladies and gentlemen. Tomorrow is my hiring board for the Seattle Police Department. I have concluded all of my testing, with the exception of the medical exam.....this follows after a board excepts you for hire or not. Anyhow, my BI had one last call to make on a reference of mine. This is a buddy of mine I have had for over 10 years.....long story short, when my BI asked if I had any issues with anybody of different race, religion, etc., he told my BI that I at one time did have issues with East Indians "Arabs." He told her that I told him while serving in the Navy, while in different Arab countries, we weren't received well..........hence, me not receiving East Indians well..................
Yes, I did in fact tell him this over 8 years ago, but I've never had any problems with East Indians from a prejudice standpoint.
The question is, will his testimony completely destroy my chances on getting on with SPD? Apparently all of my other references looked good. She did tell me lastnight that she felt confident that I would be recommended for hire. Any input on this will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for everyone's time!
Stiller
