    looking for info? (MI)

I am looking for information regarding traffic stops, meaning things that people can be cited for.
personal rites, meaning what are my rites as an indvidual in the state of MI.(not sure if individual rites differ between states or the same across the board)
how to deal with someone who is under the influence, meaning how to calm the situation down. pretty much general information when it comes to LE and being an individual and what exactly are my rites.

    thanks J

In Texas Click here and scroll down to Title 7.

    Rites are

    1. The prescribed or customary form for conducting a religious or other solemn ceremony: the rite of baptism.
    2. A ceremonial act or series of acts: fertility rites.
    3. Rite The liturgy or practice of a branch of the Christian church.

If you mean rights, you will need to be more specific.

I thought it was a great answer based on the question given.

What are you looking for? On a traffic stop you don't talk, answer questions when the officer asks them, give the officer the documentation he needs and then sit there like a ***** while he lays some ink.

with this part I am looking for a "how-to" take a situation and calm it down. is there a ten-step process for example when it comes to calming situations or handling influenced individuals that i can read over/review?

JD, your question still is too broad, but I'll try and answer,

just a few to name on my traffic tickets:

    speeding
    careless driving
    unlawful use of license plate
    driving unregistered vehicle
    registration certificate not in vehicle
    no proof of insurance
    expired registration
    reckless driving
    driver's license not on person
    ran stop sign
    red light violation
    obedience to law enforcement
    traffic lane restriction
    high beams/dazzling light
    seat belt violation

The list can go on and on as far as traffic cites are concerned. Your DUI question: To keep the situation calm, I will still treat the offender with respect (or like an adult) even while cuffing them. Most folks will be apologetic, calm, or just cry when arrested. Their emotions will usually be pretty strong because of the intoxication. Now with that said, some people get irate no matter what you do because they are drunk. I calm them down by giving them a warm glass of shut the hell up with a side cup of OC and a asp awareness class. Hope this helps ;)

I was giving you an example, and trying to help you learn to help yourself.

I simply googled "Texas Motor Vehicle Laws" and hand the link in less than 2 minutes.
