How can I obtain my employment history?

Back in college I worked at Blockbuster video for a summer and I also worked at a restaraunt for like a week during my senior year, but I have no idea what the exact dates I worked at those places are. I had these jobs almost ten years ago now and I just don't remember. any advice on how to obtain my employment history would be much appreciated

    Thanks

    Kyle

Probably would be to contact the particular companies your worked for. The only outside agency I would think would possibly have that information is the IRS since you have to fill out W2's at every job you work at. Good luck ;)

Hey, thanks. I called the IRS, but they only keep your employment history for the last 3 years. I could try calling Blockbuster video, but something tells me they won't have my history anymore. oh well, it's worth a try I guess. I also noticed some advertisment on the web for a service that says they will give you your employment history for $39.99, but the web site looks kind of shady to me.

man, if it was 10 years ago i would not pay 40 bucks just for the dates. if you're putting it on an application, just write in the month and year and you should be fine. ;)

Thanks Lfpdlieu302. I just checked with the social security website and you can in fact obtain your employment history. There is a fee though and it goes up with the number of years you request. One year is $15.00 and ten years is $35.00. I'm only looking for a two-year period while I was in college so I guess it is worth it.

Thanks again for the info. I appreciate it
