    Questin about becoming a cop.

So, I really have this dream to become a police officer in New York City.
As you can see I'm from Germany, so I don't know where I could get Information about how I could become a Police officer and what I all need ( for example what graduate I need, what height and weight I need, and of course where I should write an aplicattion to). I have written several e- mails to some web sites, but I never got an answer. So, I would really apreciate any answers.

    Thank you, Monica

As I said in Rap Sheets, "Welcome to RP!" You will will find meny people here willing to help you with answers and information. (as well as a few wise-acres ;) ) Lots of information can be found for the NYPD on their website:

    This is the recruitment FAQ

It should be noted that you MUST be a US Citizen and be 21 years old to be an officer with the NYPD.

Don't give up your dream. Look around at the web resources available to you and work to make it happen.

    Best of luck.

    Herzliche willkommen!
I don't know of any departments which won't require you to become a U.S. citizen first. Hopefully if you want to move here that is already part of your plans? What kind of education do you have?

    US Citizens

Chicago does not require you to be a U.S. Citizen, but you must be a resident alien. Chicago is the third largest city and the second largest P.D.

Yea, I want to move to the u.s.a

Well, I'm still at school right now, when I will graduate i will have a technical college graduate in economy and administration... I couldn't find the real name of my graduate in my dictionary but its like the "school leaving examination (qualifying for university entrance)", just a lil bit lower.
That's the graduate u need to have if u want to become a police officer here in Germany.

And about the U.S. citizen..hmmm.. that would be a problem I guees :(

Are you wanting to become a citizen, or just worried it will be difficult? Here is a link which might help you about becoming naturalized, some of it might be hard to understand, however.

I don't think you will have a very hard time, if it is something you truly want to do. Being an educated person from Germany and already speaking very good English, that is. Anything is possible. Please ask if there is anything we can help you with, and Viel Glück!
