Can someone explain what the color of the day means. Also does anyone in the nypd know if there is a unit called anti-crime?? If so what is there job specifically?

Plain clothes officers sometimes wear a certain color. The uniform guys know the color of the day. When the uniforms guys have to go rushing in on something, hopefully a plain clothes guy won't get shot by mistake.

No comment on the colors thing. This is still a public board and a lot of bad people out there. Be careful folks......some info we give out among ourselves is LE sensitive.
Anti-crime- plain clothes unit to address crime before it happens....such as robery, grand larceny, burglary, etc...
