Registered Sex Offenders

undefined I just want to know something I suppose. A few years ago a guy friend of my mom went to jail for doing some things. Sexual things. He may be getting out soon. I have tried to find out if he is getting out or not. No one is giving me any answers. So...is there a way to find out if a prisoner is getting out?

Oh...another thing. Once he's out, doesn't he have to register as a sex offender? One more thing about that; he should already be a registered sex offender because he was in jail for some years before meeting my mom. He had done many sexual things to a few of his family members(children).

I guess that's all I want to know. Any answers would be great. Thanks.

Here in California they have a website that will bring up the Sex offenders in the area.. Names are given. Now as far as him getting let out? Here you can call the jail.. Not sure about out where you are.

Just because he went to jail, does not mean the moment he gets out he will have to register. Certain crimes require the registration.. Unless we get further info.. You are not going to get the answer you want.

I did call the jail here. New York. Whoever I talked to just told me a whole bunch of stuff that I took to mean they can't tell the public anything unless there's a good reason. Basically, I got no real answer to anything.

I already tried that website. It didn't have this guy's name on it. He went to jail some years ago for sexual abuse he did to a few of his family members. He went to jail for sexual 'misconduct' with my little sister and a friend of my family. He did things to me but I never told really(I know-that's probably stupid of me-I was only 15/16 at the time...was scared). I thought he would have been already registered as a sex offender. He was in jail for years and he had a probation officer(whom I don't think he ever saw). He couldn't tell peole he lived with my mom because she had two kids under the age of 18 I guess. I never knew why until he started doing things...then, it all came together in my mind. Of course, I just thought the guy was crazy and sick(I'm right about that!).

what makes you think that he may be getting out soon? perhaps the person or persons that gave you that information also have more to give. you may also try to contact the department that intitally arrested him on the latest charges. they may be able to give you more information. also as stated above, only some crimes require sexual notification or registration. also be aware that not all (at least in arkansas) sexual offenders are required to notify the public. we have 4 levels here. if somone is classified as a level one, the only people who would know he was out would be law enforcement. level 4, i can plaster his face on the news and on street poles everywhere.
