    I found out something wonderful...

In my area (wheeling) you only have to be 18, and posses a HS Diploma, or GED. That means that I'll be able to be a LEO in less than three years...

Anyways, my question here is: What is the civil service exam like?

    Thank you.

Most tests are made up of general English, Math, & Reading comprehension questions. Some will have maps and others will have you look at a photo at the begining of the test, and answer questions on it at the end of the test.

You can buy books that will give practice tests.

You may want to consider living a little before you jade yourself. Just a thought.

One can only be so Open Minded before all that mind **** spills out, stains and ruins everything.

That's what I was going to say. This may likely fall on deaf ears, but just because you can doesn't mean you should. LE is a very emotionally taxing job, and I doubt I would have been able to handle it or do a decent job at 18, as cool as it would have been.

Why not consider getting a degree first? It would make you much more attractive to departments and you could take your pick from just about any agency you wanted at 22 when you graduated, and would make you a better cop too. Just some food for thought

Being technically old enough to be a LEO doesn't mean you will be. There are going to be many other qualified and older candidiates with military, college etc who will test better and look better than an 18 yr old with a HS diploma.

LEO apps are many. Open positions are few. They want the BEST canidates they can get and they don't start with the youngest and most inexperienced. You need some military or college or both under your belt. If you think an 18 yr old would make a good cop, you are wrong. I don't mean to shoot you hopes down but this is serious business.

You only have to be 35 to be the president. The youngest prez we ever had was 43.
