    ok the whole .500 magnum thread got me thinking

    what's the largest weapon you've taken from someone while working in LE ie: caliber, full auto, big freaking shotgun, 22 pistol...whatever.

    and, if you have ever actualy confiscated a full auto, where on god's green earth did he/she/they get it from?

    a MAC-10 from a traffic stop

    during a domestic violence we removed a small arsenal including full auto shotgun, SKS, and a nice Barrett .50 Cal that I wanted to take home myself..:P

    The majority are cheap handguns, but I've taken a few shotguns, Some semi-auto SKS's (for some reason the weapon of choice around here for suicides- and very effective), and a few bolt action high powered rifles.

    An illegally converted full auto Bushmaster M4 with a 11.5 inch barrel and collapsable stock. The guy pieced it together from parts and modified it himself.

    And a Benelli M1 Tactical that is just bad *** without any modifications.

    I didn't find it, it was while executing a search for stolen Credit cards. I was outside in the street keeping the crowd back, But a collegue walked out with a H&K G3 with 2 mags and 61 rounds. :eek:
    It was found under his matress with one round chambered and a full mag inserted.

    Crowd went very quiet for a few seconds then they accused us of planting it there :rolleyes:.

    All from a very demure Sri-Lankan gents house. Still don't know where he got it.

    66 (thats sixty-six) M1 carbines and 2,000 rounds of ammo, from some Sandanistas trying to smuggle them out of the country. A .22 silencer, and a .380 with a silencer (from a mob hit guy). Do parts for an F-16 jet fighter count? Or the guy that wanted to buy a Hawk Missle system from me? {He thought I was a Bad Guy - Surprize!}

    :eek: DAMN!!

    We confiscate many handguns from dumbasses that have them in their carry-on luggage. One AK-47 from a guy test-firing close to airport property.

    Also recently confiscated a 100 rd AK-47 Drum out of a 13 yr olds luggage! Needless to say a check of her father's criminal history (who was not traveling with her) resulted in many pages of drug and weapons offenses. Using the kids to do the dirty work. Hafta love that one :mad:
