Paper tickets vs Portable Computer Traffic Fines and Citation Issue System

I am wondering which one do you like better? I noticed some part of cities use only the writing citation tickets and the other part of cities use the new portable thermal printer system but the other part of cities use both of them.

Wonder if there are advantages and disadvantages of using the new technology of Portable Computer Traffic Fines and Citation Issue System?

We just started printing ours last month, it's unbelievably fast once you get used to the system we've been using. Put in the DL #, license plate #, location, violation, & court and it fills in the rest for you from the state files. I've still had to hand write a couple when I couldn't get the laptop to work right though.

Our accident reports are done on the same system, and what used to take us about an hour and a half now is about 15 minutes with a computer diagram. It even prints out driver's exchange forms.

The equipment is rather pricey to get set up, but they tell me it's actually cheaper in the long run than having the carbon ticket books printed up. The printer ink only runs about $5 a cartridge but they don't last too long.

We have auto cites and of course the original four copy paper ones. I can still write a tag faster than anyone can use the auto cite. It's convient for some things, but I prefer to hand write mine.
Be advised, I'm mean nasty and tired. I eat concertina wire and piss napalm and I could put a round through a fleas *** at 300 yards. So why don't you hump somebody else's leg mutt-face before I push yours in.

Up until a year ago our county was on paper. The entire county went to "E-tickets" which is a computer generated ticket. Very convenient for the courts, the ticket is sent right into their computers.

Very INconvenient for the officers. Our city police department traffic tickets decreased 85% until recently, and i've heard the numbers are still about 65%

    Citations

Here, we still use hand-written citations. Our department is using a lot more computer generated forms, but the citations are still good ol' fashioned paper.

i hate those things. we have so much trouble out of those auto cites. i can hand write faster than it takes to punch keys on that stupid thing.

we're going to have a lake party in two weeks. our auto-cites are going to the bottom of the river when our new PDA ticket books come in. we are supposed to be able to run information from the PDA instead of going back and forth to the car. the only downside is the printer is a separate piece.
