    Stop sign question

Ok, I have a question. When you approach a stop sign and there is a white line on the ground, you stop at the white line, correct?
My question is this what if the white line is set back off the road which you are turning on in such a way that makes it unable to clearly see if it is safe to move forward and turn?
Do you stop at the white line and then inch forward to make certain that it is safe to turn? Or do you stop at the position that will allow you to visibly make your turn safely?

I agree with DC. If there is no white line present, you can pull up abreast of the stop sign or at which point allows you to see oncoming traffic so you can proceed safely.
You know the difference between a job and a duty? A job you can refuse to do because it's dangerous; a duty you must do even if it is dangerous.

Stopping "twice" is better than hitting someone once.
