yes i was wondering if any officers down here in florida know if having a train horn in a car is illegal and how much big of a ticket can one get for having one of using one infront of an officer any answer will be apreciated :D

I am not an officer, but I can say you would surely be written up for either posession/use of unapproved/unauthorized equipment, and/or an excessive noise violation.

First, you'd have to install a pretty hefty air compressor to produce enough pressure to sound the horn.

Then, you'd have to consider that a horn is to be used as an emergency warning device only. It's one of those things that probably wouldn't be illegal to have, but could be illegal to use!

You'd also have to consider liability associated with any injuries or accidents caused by your use of this device. If some putz cuts you off in traffic, you sound your horn, and another individual is injured or involved in an accident because of it, you could be liable. Let's not forget that serious injury can be caused by loud noises, and you'd open yourself up to that liability as well.

There are always noise and other local ordinances that you could be in violation of as well.

Why in the world would you want to take all of this unnecessary risk?
