    NYPD XO and Co

    I not sure if i asked this question before, but what is the difernce btwn XO. and CO.
    If its a good question, would you be kind enough to give me a Rep.

    CO= Commanding Officer....highest in charge of a precinct or unit (like a President)
    XO= Executive Officer....second in command........(like a VP)

    I have another question for you. Is there a policy that officers are authorized to shoot fleeing prisoners who where already in custody?
    If its a good question, would you be kind enough to give me a Rep.

    There are what NY State allows and what NYPD allows. There is more to it than just a prisoner fleeing. Is he presenting an immediate danger to others? Threat to life? Weapons? Etc..... Need more to answer.
