Radio Codes

What are some of the radiocodes in your department? I know 10-4 is okay, yes, anything like that, but that's the only one I know.

10-12 is standby...as in, "10-12 while I give you that information (not). I guess it could also mean don't hold your breath.

I ran into a #6 the other day, she was TOTALLY 10-41. She went 10-8 on me so I had to take her 10-15. She almost needed a 10-72 cause she got into a 10-31 with someone else who was 10-55.

We can have COMPLETE conversations in this code. It's pretty funny when you don't want anyone else to know what you're saying.

The other day shortly after going 10-41, I got sent to investigate a 10-46 with a possible 10-55 driver, and after I went 10-76 10-40 I got 10-63 that there was now a 10-10 on scene with a possible 10-32 involved. I went 10-39 and arrived on scene just as the suspect departed. But after a brief 10-80 that resulted in two 10-57's, (fortunately no 10-58's were required but we did need a 10-59 for one) the suspect 10-50'd. I went 10-60 and wound up with a 10-95 who turned out to be 10-96, not 10-55, but a 10-29 revealed that the car was 10-99. I had our responding 10-89 10-22 and everyone else at that 10-20 went 10-8.

The other day I aired out a Code 10. Turned out to be a burglary suspect, and his cohorts were still inside the residence. I called a Code 1 on the channel, and informed all other units to downgrade to a Code 2 response. Contacted the RP, and cleared her house to find the other suspects. FOund them, cleared them on detention. Dispatch asked me if I was Code 4 for information, which I replied 4 to. Parties was Code 5-Mary out of Denver, so I placed her underarrest and informed dispatch that I was Code 6 with three.

No ten codes for us. :p
