We have a very large number of VFD members in my county. I'd estimate 75% of our FDs staff are volunteer. Mad lights, but they pay me to install ;)

But to have a person, "actually" out on patrol, with handcuffs and a badge? Oh yea, definately have to check him out.

I agree with the general consensus that something said or done was left out.

One can only be so Open Minded before all that mind **** spills out, stains and ruins everything.

Assuming that any of this is real, and I did respond as if it was, perhaps his lawyer has been telling him that it isn't wise to discuss his case in an open forum.

At any rate, this sort of resembles two situations in fiction. Neither one ended up in arrest as I can recall. One was from The Odd Couple (Randall/Klugman) where they appraently got uniforms and their wannabe actions ended up in comedy. The other was apparently a review of a movie that I read in an undergrad English book where 3-4 friends got involved in like duties, took it ever so further, to where they were eventually answering a call in another neighborhood in an auctioned police car...........and at least one gets shot, dead.

Hard to say, since the poster has gone silent, exactly what this was, but there are reasons why various positions have the phrase "under the direction/guidance of this or that agency/person".
    --------------------------------------
(Felix and Oscar are in a bar in their community assist uniforms. Suspicious of someone at the bar, Felix engages him. Quietly, he shows his badge, says, "Officer Jones, narcotics."
Felix, to Oscar across the room (and the whole room), "Hey, Oscar, it's okay, he's a narc!" Two men look up suddenly and flee out the door., (w,stte), "The Odd Couple")

That was really quite funny, actually. This guy can't honestly be clueless about why he was arrested!
Handcuff keys, lightbars, uniforms, badges, radio..... LMAO.

Man it's a shame all these great, level-headed, patient responses didn't get a thank you. Very well handled guys.

I'll give a thank you.. Not my thread but none the less.

We dont have CERT down here, but we do have overly excited security guards who utilize their amber lights for traffic stops. A big no-no. Anyhow, the security guard was taken care of and now he is *Shocking* working for another security agency.

It seems most security guards down here are parolees anyways. go figure.
