    Georgia LEOs: Need Some Advice

For those of you Georgia LEO's, I'd like some advice.

A female friend of mine (24 years old), with a young child (1 year old) moved to Georgia in November of 2003. They stayed with the child's father and grandparents.

The grandparents have since asked my friend to leave their home because of a dispute. The father of the child has asked the same.

My friends concern is whether or not it would be a crime to move out of the state with her child. If it came down to a situation where she fled without the father's consent, would she be committing a crime? How do Georgia courts look on these sort of situations, where women are the victim of domestic abuse, and attempt to flee the state with a child? If things turned ugly, would the police provide any protection for her and the child while leaving?

Quick responses are appreciated... I'm leaving to go get her at 0400.

Pretty much every state is the same, custody of a child is unenforceable by LE, unless a specific court order directs LE to take custody from one parent and give to another.

One can only be so Open Minded before all that mind **** spills out, stains and ruins everything.
