Hello all.
Well I have passed the NYPD test and have already been to the initial orientation where candidates are explained all that they have to do and how much will it cost.
Let's start from the beginning:
Fingerprinting Fee - $75 (I think the criminals get it for free)
Photos - $5
Social Secururity Earning History for the last 10 years - $35
Official College Transcript - about $5
Notarizing some documents - about $5 (maybe more)
Additionally, some of the forms have to be typed on the type writers. NYPD suggests you rent a typewriter. Cost - about $35 day.
Plus, for those who are working 9 to 5, Social Security Office is only open 9 to 4 on weekdays. Good luck if the nearest one is not close to your work. Registrar's office in colleges is working similar hours. If your dedication stands in the way of missing a few days work - apparently NYPD is primarily interested in people who take their work lightly.
I am starting to get a feeling that NYPD, during the investigating process is trying to shift some of it's responsibilities on the recruits. Is it the same in other departments?
Thanks.
