From time to time I ride with friends from other departments and carry. No one has ever had a problem with it. I'm retired now, so I am carrying it under my CCW.
    Its all legal.
How come your house has wheels and your car doesn't?

In some of the offices I have worked in, I have seen supervisors set up ride alongs for some of our agents that had no law enforcement experience prior to being hired. I have never heard of it being brought up as an issue.

We work with state and local officers all of the time, and I have frequently been in a state or local agency vehicle. I even was involved in the apprehension of an armed robbery suspect of a conveinency store that we answered the call to when I was riding to a briefing site in a Deputy Sheriff's vehicle with three deputies.

With our agents, even if the ride along agency didn't cover them liability wise, my agency would, as long as you had a supervisor's permission to do it.
