    For those with take home cars?

    I was wondering if anyone with a take home car has accessorized it? I know that our county guys here can get the windows tinted (computers) and I am pretty sure they can replace the stock head unit for cd if the use the adaptor harnesses and can put the factory back in when required. I guess I was wondering if you could add a small system, replace the factory speakers, or even add remote start/keyless/alarm/ with auto window roll up/down? I am currently an M.E.C.P.. Certified installer and am pursuing a position with some local departments, I was just thinking how cool it would be to have a remote start on the car! I really could see no reason to add subs, as I am more of a sound quality type of guy, but new mids and highs and a new head unit would be cool also!

    Any personal experience would be great to hear!

    Umm, no. Our Sheriff and Captain would frown on putting a "system" in our cars. Especially when we are supposed to be listening to the mobile more than the radio. What good would it do to put a system in anyways when you can't have it any louder than the mobile, radio that is.

    As for the system, when you are off duty with your fam. or if you are going to the gym or whatever you could listen...

    Most agencies frown on using the vehicle for personal business.

    True;

    However, some agencies encourage it. Mesquite, TX, for example. AS long as they don't leave more than X miles from the city limits, the city wants the vehicles on the road.

    and I can drive my car anywhere in the county for any purpose, but I don't drive my family around in it
    I'm not prejudice, I hate everybody equally.
